We look at the big picture adding another ingredient to the equation, FOOD. Yes, food can help you become and develop better leaders.
In the post describing the relation between food and leadership we mentioned that magnesium can help leaders deal with mood swings and therefore react better to challenging situations. A study in the journal Biological Trace Element Research showed that happier people were more apt to hit or exceed the daily recommended intake of 400 milligrams (mg). Other sources reveal that a lack of magnesium shows up as fatigue. You are constantly tired and have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning or get lazy when it comes to working out.
So where can you find magnesium in your diet? How can you include it in your eating habits? Read the rest of this entry
You can drink it at room temperature but it is better to warm it up a little. If possible, use fresh lemons. It is great to drink it before breakfast as it helps clean your body and assist in digestion. And if you want to go one step further, grate the lemon zest, freeze it and use whenever you are cooking or baking!
- Detoxes your body through its diuretic effect. Toxins are released at a faster rate which helps keep your urinary tract healthy. The citric acid in lemons helps maximize enzyme function, which stimulates the liver and aids in detoxification Read the rest of this entry

Hello dear readers! I am back in business after a wonderful break to welcome my sweet baby girl into this world. Today she is completing 100 days and I am finally feeling like things are getting “normal” again.
As life with 2 kids and a very busy husband demands more organisation and planning, I will start posting simple and fantastic tips relating to your personal image, your home / office and your habits.
Here I start with a great idea on how to let your wardrobe declutter itself!
Turn all the hangers the other way (backwards) and go on with life for the next 3-6 month. Whatever clothes that are still sitting on the hangers backwards -> deserve to go to charity! That means you have not used them during this time and they might not be your favorite items. It’s as simple as that!!
I’m doing it today with mine! Can’t wait to see how much I really wear from all the clothes I have…
Greetings until the next post!
Here is another project done in Brazil, this time in Sao Paulo. After a complete home Feng Shui analysis this family learned that an unused room was a very important space for prosperity. In addition, it was located in the north sector of their house which refers to their career and professional luck and had a special star responsible for their health. With so much potential, it was obvious we had to turn this forgotten bedroom into a vibrant and useful area. They agreed to let me transform it into a unisex baby room to accommodate their grandchildren.
At first we where a bit scared about the changes suggested but when we saw it all coming together, it all made sense. Now we are not sad anymore that our children no longer live with us. We are happy that they love coming back to visit and we feel blessed to be able to pass on our love to the next generation. But the most shocking change happened in our business about a few month after the redecoration and fixing some plumbing issues. Clients started knocking at our door and we had more work than we ever wished for. I guess Katia’s belief that our surroundings influence our lives in much more ways than we can imagine, is true. – H.K., Sao Paulo – Brazil
This was a project I did a few years ago to help a family in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, arrange their little apartment. Offering remote service is one of the aspects that make Elyts Ltd. unique. There are no time zones we can’t deal with nor distances that keep us from getting the job done. Many clients appreciate it as they can focus on their needs after working hours in the comfort of their homes and casual wear when talking to us via skype. I find that clients who choose to receive a service remotely, become more engaged as they have to express their needs more precisely. I guess they also like the fact that the service isn’t as expensive as having the professional travel to their home or office.
So here is a glimpse of solutions suggested to this family: Read the rest of this entry
One year has passed since I provided Feng Shui consultancy to the ELG school and finally went back to collect feedback and see if they had done any changes suggested. I was stunned…
How rewarding work is when you can measure change and see how it improved people’s lives. The school engaged their teachers and staff and really made great modifications to decoration and room locations. Some very simple, others a bit more complex. The most obvious was the reception area, as you can see from the before and after pictures. So what were the key recommendations made? Read the rest of this entry
Hopefully the cold and wet winter days will soon be over and give space to inspiring spring time in the north. Nothing better than reviewing your wardrobe and accessories to make room for the colors of the coming season.
Emerald is the color of 2013. You will see it from home decor to clothing. If you want to buy something that you can wear all year long, go for emerald. There are also great color combinations that will help you put together and outfit that says “I know what is fashionable!”.
